Democracy requires a well-informed electorate.
Public officials who work against this are guilty of a form of treason. "Fraud … includes the deliberate concealment of material information in a setting of fiduciary obligation. A public official is a fiduciary toward the public … and if he deliberately conceals material information from them he is guilty of fraud." More" ... the legislature finds and declares that all public bodies exist to aid in the conduct of the people's business. It is the intent of the law that their actions be taken openly and their deliberations be conducted openly." NRS 241.010

The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for them to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may retain control over instruments they have created." Nevada Open Meeting Law ManualIt follows that public officials who refuse to give responsible answers to questions raised by members of the sovereign people about THEIR business are willful enemies of openness in government and should be removed from office on grounds of fraud and, perhaps, conspiracy to commit fraud. Public officials are hired help who must not be permitted to thumb their noses at their employers. Public employees who willfully hide the public's business from them simply can not be trusted.
